A to Z of the Year 2019, Part 1
In the run up to Christmas, we’re going to look back over the last year with a fun A-Z of all the exciting projects, company developments and new products we’ve worked on in 2019. We’ve been posting everyday on our social media channels so you can also check them out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn! Read letters A-I below…
A is for Award Winning
Back in January we were delighted to win the ‘Best Supplier Award’ at the Festival Supplier Awards which recognised the achievements and hard work of outdoor event and festival suppliers. The award recognises all of the hard work put in by everybody across PKL to make it happen for our customers over the last 12 months.
B is for Baking
Throughout the year we have taken part in a range of cake sales showcasing the skills of our employees whilst raising money for different charities such as Macmillan, Alzheimers, Starlight and more! The money raised will help the charities to fund pioneering research, crucial support services and vital care.
C is for Chapel Down Gin Works
Chapel Down finalised plans to open a new restaurant in Kings Cross, but the site had little to no kitchen space, a key ingredient for any successful hospitality venue. We supplied a 9 metre KitchenPod, spray painted in black to fit in with the existing building which allowed them to provide a top-quality food offering.
D is for Down Hall
Down Hall Hotel & Spa created a new musical event, Live at Down Hall to introduce new audiences to its brand. The event meant that 4,000 customers would be descending on the beautiful site, all needing to be fed. We supplied a marquee kitchen to allow the event to produce four distinct food offers for their customers.
E is for Express
We’ve launched our most cost-effective and time-effective food kiosk, the Food Cube Express. With a standard design layout based on a tried and tested confiuguration, it’s ideal for use in a wide number of establishments that want to start or expand their catering operation.
F is for Feedback
After every hire, we ask our customers to fill in a feedback form that covers all aspects of their experience. By doing this, we can see what areas of our business are doing well and any areas that may need improving. Throughout the last 12 months, we’ve seen an increase in our technical support score which is at 93% and our sales support score which is at 96%.
G is for Gran Canaria
We supplied a kitchen and dining facility which was positioned on a drilling ship just off the coast of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. The facility is being used to support a major offshore exploration company and feed the 20 staff on board who will receive breakfast, lunch and an evening meal during their stints offshore.
H is for Haskins
Haskins planned to rebuild its site but needed a temporary structure to house the garden centre during the year long build. We supplied a temporary kitchen and cafe facility mirroring the company’s existing setup which allowed the centre to continue its catering presence.
I is for ISO 45001
We achieved health & safety accreditation ISO 45001 which is a new standard that requires companies to work to a framework that helps to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks & create better & safer working conditions. This latest accreditation illustrates our commitment to providing the highest level of level of health and safety.
