Chapel Down is the UK’s most successful winery. In mid-2018, the company finalised plans to open a new “Gin Works” bar and restaurant in Kings Cross, the capitol’s tech hub.
The company chose a beautiful building alongside a canal, which would create an iconic restaurant and bar, with stunning views from its three terraces for customers.
But the site had little to no kitchen space, a key ingredient for any successful hospitality venue. Their planned offer included an attractive and modern menu of fresh British produce, and needed a professional kitchen with a high spec but small footprint.
Chapel Down called PKL to help in September 2018, and PKL supplied a 9 metre KitchenPod at the beginning of December. The business was up and running on December 17.
Guy Tresnan, Sales and Marketing Director of Chapel Down PLC, said: “The KitchenPod has given us that kitchen space the site needed, and we were delighted at the quick turnaround PKL delivered. The KitchenPod now looks like it’s always been there, and is just another part of the building.”
The Gin Works now thrives thanks to its top-quality food offering, stunning views, and a drinks menu of Chapel Down’s amazing gin, wine and vodka.
