We offer a comprehensive emergency response service, while can also provide you with kitchen contingency plans to ensure that you are best placed to get back up and running again as quickly as possible. We have supported organisations facing a wide range of unexpected kitchen closures, including providing an emergency kitchen supplied to a pub after a fire, as well as helping schools and healthcare organisations maintain essential catering services. You can also find out more about how RAAC closures disrupt school and hospital meal services.
The size of our fleet of temporary kitchens and catering equipment for hire, our in-house team of engineers and project managers and our owned transport fleet, means that we can get temporary catering facilities to you quickly in an emergency, and we often provide a same-day response.
The facilities below outline the types of kitchens and equipment that we can supply, often on the same day to ensure that your catering operation is back up and running again as soon as possible. In some cases, the products below may be used as an interim facility that we can get to you immediately until we can supply you with a temporary kitchen that is more tailored to your requirements.
Please note our emergency facilities are temporary kitchen units that we will deliver to your site, not rentable static kitchen space.
Never Used a Temporary Kitchen Before?
If you have never used a temporary kitchen before, or are unsure about the concept, the video below provides you with an overview of the types of facilities that we are able to provide, and how they are used by our customers. We are able to provide anywhere from small temporary kitchen units, up to large scale open plan multi-unit temporary kitchen and dining facilities, or anywhere in-between.
Ready to Go Catering Equipment
We operate a large scale catering equipment testing, inspection and maintenance centre on site. After every hire, each piece of catering equipment passes through this centre, where it is stripped of its component parts and cleaned. It is then reassembled, tested and commissioned before going through a final QA process to ensure that it is in full working order.
This ensures that we keep a large stock of ready-to-go catering equipment which we know is in full working order, which can be dispatched at short notice in an emergency situation.

Temporary Kitchen Preparation
The Quay is our custom made facility for the preparation of temporary kitchens. It is linked to our catering equipment engineering centre to ensure that we are able to quickly prepare temporary kitchens with your choice of catering equipment. Similar to our catering equipment, all of our temporary kitchens are cleaned on the Quay after every hire, while go through a thorough testing, commissioning and QA process before they leave PKL to ensure that they are in full working order.
We keep a stock of ready-to-hire kitchens and coldrooms that have gone through our testing and commissioning process, which are ready to be dispatched in an emergency.

We offer a free business continuity plan to ensure that you are best prepared should you face an emergency in your kitchen. Our business continuity plan outlines a range of temporary kitchens of different sizes and items of catering equipment that are available to you at short notice, as well as a guide and checklist to run through to ensure that your site is best prepared to receive them.
