Emergency Kitchen After Fire at the Swan at Tetsworth

Antoine Chretien and Caminne Veron have been building an enviable reputation at the Swan at Tetsworth since 2013. Situated in a building connected to one of the country’s most renowned antique centres, they concentrate on giving customers an authentic “French experience”, even conversing with the customers in French. The approach is perfect for their customers, and the business was thriving.

Then, on November 15th 2017, it looked like it could all come crashing down. An electrical fire in an outbuilding early in the morning spread to and completely destroyed their kitchen, whilst thankfully leaving the rest of the building intact.

The pair were despairing and looking at a lengthy shutdown. Just ahead of the Christmas season, for which the restaurant was fully booked, it was nothing less than a disaster.

Until, that is, a quick internet search brought up PKL’s temporary solutions. Antoine called early on Saturday morning, not expecting an answer. He was pleasantly surprised with the response he received.

“I was called back within ten minutes and quickly PKL took down what I needed,” he said. “I had a quote first thing Monday morning.”

PKL suggested a single Magnum kitchen replicating the equipment the restaurant’s hard-working staff were used to using, to minimise disruption and training. PKL’s proposal was designed to get them up and running again as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“The kitchen was in place and operating two weeks after the fire. It was brilliant to find there are companies out there that still provide a great service. When I called I never dreamed I could be up and operating so quickly. I didn’t want to let down my customers, and thanks to PKL, we haven’t!”
