Temporary Kitchens for Wembley Stadium Events

PKL has been working with Wembley Stadium for five years for its Summer concerts.

Wembley chose PKL because of the quality and features of the company’s portable Magnum kitchens. The units can be set up quickly and easily, and are compliant with the latest health and safety regulations, and include fire suppression, a full length extraction canopy,  non-slip floors, wipe down walls and an automatic gas shut off. The kitchen ticks all the health and safety boxes for the organisation.

With a short time window for installation, and a need to be operational immediately, PKL’s Magnum kitchens and preparation facilities were perfect logistically for Wembley too.

The Summer programme of concerts, which start after the sport season has finished, caters for many different sizes of events with different demands from artists and their support teams.

The flexibility of the PKL 6m Magnum kitchens allows Wembley to plan for the Summer events in 2017 without a concern for their production capacity despite the different demands posed by four different events taking place over a six-week period.

The season started in late May with a challenging delivery to an area underneath the stadium. Using forklift trucks, the PKL PSD team manoeuvred two six-metre Magnum Production kitchens and one preparation kitchen into place. The catering team were reassured by the digital handover pack, which allowed any member of staff to access risk assessments  and commissioning information for all the equipment, detailed plans of the units and manuals for each of the pieces of equipment and temporary kitchens sent out on the hire.

PKL’s 24-hour tech support was always on hand throughout the six-week hire, and thanks to PKL’s 55,000 piece hire fleet, the caterers on-site always knew that their team were well-supported. With all this in place the catering for their exclusive guests went without a hitch throughout the summer.

We’ve just extended our agreement with PKL for another two years, which illustrates the strength of our ongoing relationship.”
