The Kings Arms Pub Brasserie based in Prestbury, Cheltenham, is a quirky and quaint 500-year-old pub, and is a part of the Raymond Blanc chain of pubs. Inspired by Raymond Blancs recipes and travels around the world, the cuisine at the Kings Arms consists of home-cooked seasonal food with a French twist, along with carefully curated wines and a wide range of ales & beers.
Over the past two years, the roof of the Pub has developed a lot of leaks and became rotted, which in turn was affecting their electrics and the excellent service that they pride themselves on. The only possible outcome was to replace the whole kitchen roof, but without having to close the Pub. The team at the Kings Arms reached out to PKL, and planning began to ensure this was possible.
PKL supplied a magnum production kitchen, which was carefully and expertly craned into a tight space directly next to the pub, allowing for the Kings Arms to continue their normal service.
Suzi Milne of the Kings Arms Pub Brasserie commented, “We were fantastically lucky enough that we were able to get this huge unit so that we could still trade – I thought we were going to have to close the kitchen for a couple of weeks, but we were so so lucky that we managed to get PKL in”.
“When the unit arrived, we went through absolutely everything, there was no stone unturned. We were provided with lots of contact information, where we could go if we had any issues, and the 24 hours hotline number – the service was fantastic”.
The Kings Arms team initially thought that they were going to have to run at a reduced service before the temporary kitchen had arrived, but they soon realised that they could do everything and more than the old kitchen provided them – they managed to host their first-ever large party at the Pub along with a full capacity restaurant, utilising the equipment and space inside the temporary kitchen.
