Remote Site Kitchen and Dining Facility in Nigeria
PKL provided a modular kitchen and dining facility for a prestigious client in the Nigerian port of Lagos, West Africa.
The installation took place within an economic free zone in the city, strategically positioned at the entry point of Lagos Harbour.
As a result of ongoing contract discussions with a prime Oil and Gas company, the client required a high quality modular kitchen and dining facility, to provide three meals a day for 500 international employees.
Following a period of design development, the client chose one of PKL’s template Remote Site Kitchen designs, the TW600D. This is a 300m2 modular kitchen and dining facility, capable of providing more than 200 covers in a single sitting.
PKL erected and completed the fit out of the kitchen units at its Cheltenham Head office, to ensure construction, testing and commissioning works took place in a factory controlled environment. This ensured that the kitchen and dining facility arrived on site ready to be erected and connected to services in the shortest possible time.
The dining units were shipped to site in ‘flat pack stacks’ and erected on site by a local workforce, supervised and assisted by a PKL Installation Team.
