Popup Kitchen for Seafood Scotland at Boxpark Shoreditch
Seafood Scotland wanted to showcase their country’s stunning produce in an iconic venue, and felt Boxpark Shoreditch was the perfect spot. They began planning for a weekend of events in the July 2018.
But the space they could use had no water and no power. How could they set up a fully functioning kitchen in such circumstances, and on budget?
They called PKL.
Working with Natalie Bell and Debbie Hughes of Seafood Scotland, PKL created a plan that worked with the space the team had available and gave them the production facilities they needed.
PKL provided a number of designs for the setup and even offered extra tabling to give the catering team the flexibility they needed throughout the weekend. We also connected the team with Flying Hire who provided the generator they needed for the weekend.
The setup allowed the team to feed hundreds of fascinated Londoners across the weekend, sharing the delights of Scottish lobster, scallops, mussels and more.
Natalie Bell said: “We knew it was going to be a challenge to create the kind of kitchen we needed, but thanks to PKL’s expert advice, installation and great kit, we had a kitchen that helped us run a really successful popup in one of London’s hottest foodie havens.”
