Temporary Catering Facilities Supplied for Womad Festival

For the second year in succession PKL provided the Crew Catering facilities to this world-renowned event – setting up a large and streamlined professional kitchen at the Charlton Park site.

Working to the exact requirements of Faye and David Penfold, the cooking entrepreneurs in charge of the staff catering at the festival, PKL constructed a kitchen within a large tent around two cold rooms. The kitchen was designed to help the flow of production for the small but dedicated team, feeding the site staff throughout setup, when the festival was live and during the breakdown.

As a festival celebrating the diversity of music, Faye and David wanted to reflect this in the food offer they provided for staff. As well as catering for different dietary needs they ensured they provided a variety of dishes for vegetarians, vegans and pescatarians working on site.

PKL, which has provided the kitchens at the staff catering centre for three years, worked with Faye and David to provide not only a smooth production base, but also a well equipped servery for the site’s front of house.

Faye and David chose PKL because they knew such a high-profile event required equipment that would not let them down.
