Catering Equipment Hire for Hospitality Areas at London Games

PKL was contracted by the appointed contract caterer to supply kitchen facilities and catering equipment for 12 Sponsor Chalets and the fine dining restaurant. The scope of works included design, installation and project management, as well as service and maintenance during the hire period. This included all temporary mechanical services, including gas, water, drainage and kitchen ventilation.

The chalets served the main sponsors, and operated a 5 star service to the highest standards. PKL worked closely with the Project Director from the appointed contract caterer, to ensure the smooth running of the project, and the Client were delighted with the outcome. In total, 955 staff worked in the complex, including 44 butlers alone on the opening night. The facilities supplied enabled all food to be prepared fresh on site daily, and on a single day over 60,000 individual
portions of top quality hot food were prepared.

The planning stage took 8 months, in coordination with the Games Organising Committee, the onsite contract caterer and the tent contractor, and the fit-out of the main CPU was undertaken in only 14 days.
