London Games Temporary Catering Facilities for Games Makers and Public

PKL installed 94 food outlets in the North Park of the site, providing catering facilities to serve the public, staff and Games Makers. The satellite venues incorporated coffee shops, delis, Asian and Italian food, fish and chips, a la carte, sushi restaurants and a champagne bar, to name just a few.

PKL’s scope of work included design, installation and project management, along with service and maintenance during the hire period. PKL worked closely with master caterer Amadeus to provide facilities and equipment suitable for operation at the specified sites.

With the successful delivery of 94 catering venues and 1,447 items of catering equipment, PKL’s facilities serviced an area of the Olympic Park measuring 200,000m2 and served over 50,000 people per day.

The 12 month planning period was undertaken in coordination with LOCOG, Amadeus, tent erectors and shop fitting contractors. The installation was programmed over 3 months, with the final facilities installed in just 4 weeks to coincide with the completion of the tented areas.
