PKL is Raising Money for Charity Crisis Through a Series of Events
We have come up with a number of events to bring in funds for the charity, which helps homeless people, working with them to rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind for good.
Crisis is running a special campaign around the Christmas period, one of the toughest times for anyone without a home.
We have several Christmas themed events planned with the aim of raising £300 for the campaign.
We’ll be collecting donations in our reception area, holding a sponsored Christmas jumper day, will be fundraising at our Christmas party and will be holding a Mince Pie Sale and Christmas Raffle.
This will pay for ten homeless people to be welcomed to one of Crisis’ shelters over the Christmas period. While there, each one will be offered a shower, a change of clothes, food and a health check from a doctor, optician and dentist. They will also get the chance to have time with a mental health expert, as well as housing and employment advisers.
PKL Social Committee member Andrew Allen said: “We all agreed that Crisis are a fantastic charity doing so much to help homeless people get back on their feet. Christmas is a time for celebration and thankfulness for many of us, but it’s good to remember others too.
“We’ve decided to put our Christmas celebrations to good use by setting ourselves this target of raising £300 to achieve something good for others.”
PKL Chief Executive Lee Vines said: “We’re delighted our fantastic team have decided to use their festive events to raise funds for such a worthy cause. We are all looking forward to the different events and I hope we raise lots for this brilliant cause.”
