Meet our Work Experience Team

Say hi to Bertie in Y11 who started his work experience at PKL as part of the marketing team on the 4th of October 2022. We asked him some fun ice breaker questions to find out a bit more about him.
Bertie is taking business, food tech and geography for his GCSE options. We asked him what he enjoyed doing on the weekend and he said that he liked meeting up with friends, going mountain biking up the local hill, and playing Spider-Man on his PlayStation. Bertie said if he had to watch one movie forever, it would be either Blades of Glory (a comedy) or The Amazing Spider-Man – he did also mention his favourite shows are The Office UK and I’m Alan Partridge (also comedies). The subject that Bertie enjoys at school is the most recent space topic in physics as he found this interesting, and also likes being social and having a laugh with his friends. Finally, we asked him if he could meet any celebrity who would it be? Bertie mentioned Andrew Garfield (who played Spider-Man), Harrison Ford (who played Han Solo), and Michael Jackson if he was alive.

Say hi to Casper in Y11 who recently started their work experience at PKL on the 4th of October 2022 to learn about design and the design team. We asked them some fun questions to get to know them a little better.
Casper is taking geography, graphic design and art for their GCSE options. Firstly, we asked them if they would let aliens beam them up from Earth and Casper said yes – the reason being that they would get to see space which would be “pretty cool”. We then asked if they could be a food would they, and they replied with no as they would prefer not to be eaten. If they absolutely had to be a food, then they said they’d be a rotting food so they wouldn’t be eaten! Casper was then asked if they would rather have a sloth or a parrot as a pet, to which they responded with sloth because it wouldn’t talk as much. They stated their favourite book was The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and, their reasoning behind this was that it was “just a good book!”. Casper also believes breakfast is important and they recently have been eating jelly with fruit. They feel they are more productive in the mornings because they can get up early and do homework as opposed to doing it at night. Their favourite season is Autumn because of the crunchy, red leaves. Casper’s favourite childhood show was Horrid Henry, this brought back memories of watching this show with their brother and nan after school. We questioned them about their favourite teacher at school and they said their chemistry teacher as they make chemistry very interesting. Lastly, we asked them if they liked tea or coffee more and they replied with coffee!
