The DishwashPod is a self contained modular dishwash building that takes warewashing out of your main kitchen and gives it a dedicated space of its own. It can be linked directly to an existing kitchen so that staff move between the two without going outside, or it can be sited as a standalone building where the kitchen has no external wall to link to.
Warewashing is often the constraint on a busy kitchen rather than production. Where the dishwash area sits inside the kitchen footprint, it takes floor space, generates heat and steam, and creates a crossing point between clean and dirty flows. Moving it into a DishwashPod releases that floor area, which can then be reconfigured as preparation or production space and lift the number of meals the kitchen can serve.

How the DishwashPod Is Specified
The standard DishwashPod is supplied with a hood dishwasher rated at 40 baskets, a double bowl sink, food safe storage racking, a COSHH cupboard for chemical storage and a bin. Equipment is drawn from PKL’s hire fleet of 55,000 items of catering equipment, so the layout can be changed to match the volume and the type of ware you are washing rather than fixed to the standard drawing.
The building requires an electrical supply, a 22mm water inlet and both 40mm and 110mm waste outlets. Where those services are not already available at the position you have in mind, PKL can arrange them as part of the project or put you in contact with the relevant trades.
Installation and Site Requirements
The DishwashPod is delivered by lorry and craned into position where vehicle access is restricted. A level hard standing surface is preferred, and where the ground is not level the building is levelled on installation. Because the pod is built off site, the work at your premises is limited to the installation and the service connections rather than a construction programme inside a working kitchen.
Exterior finishes include brick slip, which can be produced to match an existing brick or stone elevation, stained wood cladding, a pre coloured finish or a vinyl wrap carrying your own branding. Where the pod will be visible to the public or sited under planning conditions, the finish is specified accordingly.
Procurement and Support
The DishwashPod is available to purchase for a one off fee, with a 12 month warranty on the equipment and a 15 year structural warranty on the building, or on all inclusive contract hire for a fixed monthly fee that covers service, maintenance, parts, labour and technical support for as long as the building is on rental. Every installation is covered by PKL’s 24 hour technical support line, with engineers available to attend site.

The attractive wood cladding finish can be stained in a wide range of colours and designs, which can be complemented with colouring to the trim of the building. Cladding can be run horizontally or vertically on the building.
Pre-Coloured Exterior
KitchenPods are available in a wide number of standard coloured finishes. As part of the construction process, the building will be finished in a colour of your choice.
Vinyl Wrap Exterior
The vinyl wrap can be produced in any design required by the end user. Bespoke finishes are also available by providing a photo or customised design. Our internal design team are available to help if you would like a logo, branding or customised finish to your building.

Purchase
Modular Kitchens are available to purchase for a one off fee. The price will depend on the size and style of unit, and the equipment you have specified inside it. If you are considering the purchase option, the equipment inside the KithchenPod is provided with a 12-month warranty, while the building itself is supplied with a 15-year structural warranty.
Hire
Under our contract hire option, you pay a monthly fee for the Modular Kitchen. This covers everything, so any service, maintenance, technical support or parts that you might need are covered for as long as the building is on hire. This covers both the equipment and the building itself. Our hire option is popular for those customers who wish to secure a KitchenPod for their site, but wish to use the up front capital required to procure a unit elsewhere in their business or organisation.
