Catering Equipment and Temporary Kitchens for Event Suppliers

Contract caterers, bar operators, hospitality contractors, production companies and marquee companies all reach a point where the contract they have won needs more kitchen, more refrigeration or more catering equipment than they hold themselves.

PKL supplies that capacity, at short notice and at scale. We work with event suppliers on a partnership basis, with a fleet of more than 600 temporary kitchen units and 55,000 items of catering equipment behind every order. Whether the requirement is a couple of items of catering equipment or a full production kitchen built on a site with nothing on it, it is handled through one managed service and one point of contact.

How We Work With Event Suppliers

You hold the event client relationship, PKL provides the infrastructure and the equipment, designs it around your menu and your volumes, and manages survey, delivery, installation, service connection, support and removal so your team can concentrate on the service rather than on the catering infrastructure.

Equipment For Your Contract, or the Whole Kitchen

Event Kitchens, Catering Equipment and Refrigeration

Whether you need additional catering equipment, extra cold storage, or a complete kitchen facility, PKL provides the infrastructure needed to deliver foodservice operations at events of every size.

Our extensive range of catering equipment can be hired as standalone items to supplement your existing facilities or as part of a complete solution tailored to your menu, production volumes and service requirements. Refrigeration and cold storage are often critical to the success of an event, with walk-in cold rooms and freezer rooms specified to match the volume of stock being held on site.

Where temporary foodservice facilities are required, PKL supplies event kitchens ranging from single production units to multi-unit kitchen complexes. Facilities can include preparation and production areas, warewashing facilities, dry storage, serveries and dining spaces, all configured around your anticipated covers, service pattern and operational requirements.

Scoping a Hire

Every event is different, which is why every facility is designed around the service you need to deliver.

PKL’s project team works with you to understand menu requirements, anticipated covers, service schedules, build and break periods, site services and access arrangements before developing a solution. Site surveys and CAD layouts can be provided to ensure facilities are correctly specified and fully coordinated before installation begins.

From a single cold room to a complete catering facility, every project is designed around the available space, site constraints and operational demands. Build and break schedules are agreed with you from the outset, ensuring facilities are installed and removed in line with your event programme.

Using PKL’s own transport and installation teams provides greater control over delivery and installation schedules, helping ensure facilities are ready when required. With no minimum hire period, equipment and facilities can remain on site for exactly as long as the event demands.

Event Support and Reliability

When catering operations are critical to an event’s success, reliability matters.

Every item of equipment and every kitchen unit undergoes preparation, cleaning, testing and inspection before leaving PKL’s facilities. Transport, delivery and installation are managed by experienced PKL personnel, ensuring equipment arrives ready for use and facilities are installed correctly.

A dedicated support line operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing technical assistance throughout the hire period. For larger or more complex events, PKL can also provide on-site engineering support and contingency equipment, allowing potential issues to be resolved quickly and minimising disruption to service.

This approach ensures event organisers, caterers and venue operators have the facilities, support and operational resilience needed to deliver successful foodservice operations from first service to final breakdown.

A Fully Managed Service

With one of the UK’s largest fleets of temporary kitchens, refrigeration and catering equipment, PKL has the capacity to support multiple events and catering operations simultaneously, even during the busiest periods of the year. Facilities can be delivered nationwide using PKL’s own transport and installation teams, providing greater control over delivery schedules and project coordination.

Why Event Suppliers Work With PKL

PKL holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, together with CHAS, SAFEcontractor, Constructionline, Gas Safe and CSCS, so the compliance evidence your client asks for is already in place.

Beyond the accreditations, the case is scale and single accountability. Over 35 years, PKL has delivered more than 15,000 temporary kitchen facilities and now supplies over 500 events a year. Every project runs on a turnkey basis, with PKL managing site survey, design, delivery, installation, support and removal, and as part of Lowe Rental we bring the wider group’s refrigeration and equipment expertise to the projects we deliver together. For you, it remains one supplier, one specification and one point of contact.

Events we Have Supported

The clearest example of how PKL delivers alongside a partner is the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, delivered with Lowe Rental and the basis of PKL’s Best Plant and Equipment Hire win at the Festival Supplier Awards. The scale of that project is set out on our event organisers page.

FAQs

  • 1

Can we hire from you without you approaching our client?

Yes. You hold the client relationship. PKL supplies you, works to your specification and deals with you throughout.

  • 2

What happens if equipment fails during the event?

A 24-hour line runs 365 days a year and replacement equipment can often be delivered the same day. Where a contract warrants it, PKL can supply attending engineers on site throughout the event, together with spare equipment.

  • 3

How late can we add equipment to an order?

It depends on the item and the season. Summer and Christmas are our peak periods, so confirm as early as your own programme allows.

  • 4

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. PKL delivers UK-wide using its own transport and installation teams rather than third-party hauliers.

  • 5

Do you offer trade accounts or sub-hire agreements?

No. PKL does not operate trade accounts, account terms, priority stock or sub-hire arrangements. Every requirement is quoted individually against what the contract actually needs.
