We’ve finally reached the end of the year and the end of the alphabet – here’s Part 3 of our A-Z of our 2016 highlights.
S is for… Support
Following a successful trial last year, our innovative eHandover packs were rolled out across all hires this year, eliminating the need for cumbersome paperwork. Supplied on electronic tablets or via weblinks, these interactive packs provide comprehensive equipment and hire information. From site drawings and equipment manuals, to detailed health and safety information, the eHandover packs contain all the information each client needs to know about their hire, all in one place.
T is for… Trainings
Our staff often attend trainings to improve their product knowledge. This year, our U-Select, sales and kitchen design teams have been lucky enough to receive equipment training and demonstrations on Merrychef ovens, the Ceroffee coffee roaster and PizzaMaster ovens. By keeping up to date with all the latest models and features available, our teams remain able to offer knowledgeable advice in specifying the very best equipment for each client’s requirements.
U is for… U-Select
Our U-Select division celebrated its first birthday this month, following a successful first year where over 150 customers benefited from its range of flexible equipment procurement options. In this first year alone, U-Select was shortlisted in the New Product of the Year category in the Cafe Life Awards, and the Ceroffee Coffee Roaster (for which U-Select is the exclusive UK distributor) won Best In Class in the Design-Led category of the FEJ’s Foodservice Equipment of the Year initiative, which recognises the top kitchen launches of 2016.
V is for… Vehicles
With the launch of our new logo at the start of the year, our fleet of trucks and vans have all been updated with our new branding! This rolling programme had to fit around our busy transport schedule, but now it’s been completed, we reckon our vehicles look great! If you see one out and about, don’t forget to tweet us a photo!
W is for… Website
We launched our new website this year, alongside our new logo and branding. With a new layout and menu system, the new site is easier to navigate and contains updated product information, as well as the addition of a news section and updated case studies.
X is for… Xmas Opening Hours
Our office will close for the Xmas break at the end of the day on Friday 23rd December and will reopen on Tuesday 3rd January. If you have an emergency over the Christmas period and require a temporary kitchen or items of catering equipment, our emergency response line is open 24 hours a day, and you can reach us on 01242 663000.
Y is for… Youth
We have close ties with our local secondary school, and once again this year welcomed along a work experience student. Our student this year was Joe, who joined us for a week in March. We tailored his experience around his interests, and he spent time in Kit Heaven, Design, IT, and Marketing, getting a broad overview of the company and having the chance to try a range of jobs!
Z is for… Zebras
We ran a successful trial of a Temporary Food Cube at a safari park earlier this year, which the park used to gauge popularity before committing to ordering a permanent Food Cube. It was used as a satellite outlet away from the main café, to take advantage of increased visitor numbers due to a new exhibit being opened. To transport it to its location on site, the Temporary Food Cube had to be driven through the safari park itself, past the rhinos, giraffes, ostriches, zebras and antelopes!
