Our experienced team can supply clients with a range of commercial kitchen designs, including for single portable kitchen units, large scale open plan facilities, commercial kitchens in existing premises, temporary catering facilities for major events or full-scale permanent modular buildings.

Large Scale Commercial Kitchen Design
PKL has consistently delivered large-scale commercial facilities, which have often required the design of a number of separate kitchens in one complex or building.
In recent years we have been involved in the planning and delivery of:
- Culinary training schools, which have required a number of separate kitchens in one building
- Complete temporary catering facilities for the last three Olympic Games, capable of supplying up to 200,000 meals per day
- MOD kitchens in Iraq
We also design and build permanent modular kitchen facilities to large scale requirements for end use sectors including the prison service, MOD, business and industry, and the education sector.
We have designed and delivered major commercial kitchen facilities around the world, including complete temporary dining facilities for the Athletes Village at the last three Olympic Games. These large scale kitchen designs have often included a wide range of different "themed food" areas, space for fast food restaurants and enough space to seat athletes, officials and volunteers alike. They have also required an intimate knowledge of local planning, building and catering regulations to ensure we design and deliver useable facilities on time and to budget.
Temporary Kitchen Designs
We supply commercial kitchen designs for temporary facilities to clients on a daily basis. We have developed a range of Proven Packages, 12 pre-designed configurations of our portable kitchens and support units, which are tried and tested and proven to work across a wide spectrum of commercial applications. These kitchen designs can be used to provide a quick and effective solution to clients, or as a starting point for designing a kitchen facility to the end user's exact requirements.
