Frequently Asked Questions - Catering Equipment

Q: What is the difference between LPG and natural gas?
A: LPG - Liquid Propane Gas is generally found in cylinders and is a colourless and odourless gas. It needs to be stored outside due to health and safety legislation. Natural Gas is the gas that is piped into most homes and businesses from a main supplier.

Q: Is PKL catering equipment easy to move?
A: Yes. The majority of our equipment is fitted with castors so it is easy to manoeuvre and clean.

Q: Do I need an extraction system for use with your catering equipment?
A: No. It is not a necessity that an extraction system is used in conjunction with our equipment, but we would recommend it. We can provide Mobile Canopies, which provide a full extraction and fire suppression system. They are ideal in todays health and safety conscious environment.

Q: Can you install the catering equipment for me?
A: Yes. Our CORGI registered engineers can install and commission your chosen equipment safely and efficiently.

Q: Can I position the catering equipment anywhere on site?
A: Our equipment is easily manoeuvred and as long as health and safety regulations are adhered to and services taken into consideration, you should then have the utmost flexibility when it comes to positioning the equipment.

Q: Do you offer training on the catering equipment?
A: Yes. PKL CORGI registered engineers can provide on site training for all of our catering equipment.

Q: Will you position the equipment within my kitchen facility?
A: Yes. Our experienced drivers will be happy to position the equipment for you.

Q: How old is the catering equipment that you hire?
A: PKL have a policy of continuous equipment upgrades, which means that the equipment you receive is unlikely to be more than three years old. This minimises technical breakdowns and ensures that clients have available the very latest in catering facilities.

Q: Do I need to clean the catering equipment before collection?
A: Yes. You will need to thoroughly clean the equipment to the same standard that it was delivered. Otherwise you may incur a deep cleaning charge. All cleaning duties will be explained to you when the equipment is first delivered.
