PKL were responsible for the design and specification of a temporary kitchen and dining facility on Saadiyat Island.
PKL worked with Leighton Project Management to facilitate the delivery and installation of the equipment, including site supervision, commissioning and testing, while also supplied construction and site drawings.
Together with the onsite contract caterer, PKL developed a modular kitchen facility, tailored towards feeding the largely Asian workforce. The kitchen was fitted out in the UK and was transported as modular units to Saadiyaat Island.
The facility was constructed in six weeks from receiving the order and took two weeks to assemble onsite. The kitchen and dining complex is onsite for a planned period of 12 months.
