Event Kitchen Units at Lapland UK

Lapland UK is one of the country’s premiere Christmas experiences and welcomed over 3,000 guests a day over five weeks, to woods magically transformed into a festive wonderland.

Lapland UK first used PKL in 2015 to supply individual pieces of catering equipment for the event, however after realising the opportunities that our temporary kitchen units provided, decided to utilise these for their 2016 event.

Lapland’s catering manager, Martin, worked with PKL account manager Krista and project manager Ted to design and create a setup perfect for their event. Liaising closely with the team on site to ensure a specially constructed platform for the kitchen was in place ahead of the arrival of the temporary facilities, PKL delivered the units and equipment in one day and completed the entire installation within three.

Martin said: “This year I’ve changed the whole operation and PKL (Krista and Ted in particular) have been absolutely great in helping me decide on a kitchen that works perfectly for the event.

“Using PKL has ensured I’ve never had any major issues with equipment. They have always been more than willing to help out whenever we have an issue as a matter of urgency. Krista has been brilliant dealing with situations immediately as they arise, and generally extremely understanding and very helpful!

“The staff love the new container unit, while the equipment has been well maintained and technical issues resolved quickly.

“I think the level of events that PKL do and the sheer amount of equipment they have is an advantage because it shows experience and expertise. I never thought to use PKL at first because I assumed they would have a premium rate as compared with slightly smaller kitchen hirers, but the rates have been extremely reasonable and with the additional level of technical support it works out a good package for us.”

Requirement

Open plan production kitchen made from 4 x six metre units, supplying the log cabin restaurant, the bakery, hot chocolate factory and bratwurst  stand.
Additional serveries, a gas barbeque and display units for other parts of the site and all kitchen equipment for the staff catering operations.

Equipment

Open plan temporary kitchens including two extraction canopies, racking, flight dishwashers, front loading dishwashers, and sinks for several loading areas.
